I clearly remember creating the first sketches for this painting. On the deck of the Red Sea, where I interacted with wild dolphins every day, becoming part of their pod, I witnessed how they slept, played, and sang. But the painting was born a little later and completely unexpectedly for me.
I literally felt what it should be like. Without color. The spectrum of warm tones at depths greater than 10 meters is absorbed. There, a state of zero buoyancy (weightlessness, like in space) occurs. Thoughts fade away, you become the sea and forget about breathing. It’s a deep dive into oneself.
This process is directly related to spiritual practices. The phenomena that occur with the human body at depth, under normal atmospheric pressure, on land, can only be replicated through yoga.
The images of dolphins, in turn, are something very personal and greater than I can describe. It has always been this way. They have remained in my memory, and I transferred them from my underwater experience onto the canvas. Each brushstroke is an attempt to capture that magic and harmony that I have never experienced anywhere else.
